Picture: Planned Parenthood’s idea of St. Valentine’s Day

by Thomas Peters on February 12th, 2010

Warning: don’t read this post before eating….

LifeNews:

New Valentine’s Day cards from Planned Parenthood and a national organization for “pro-choice” doctors don’t have the typical phrases like “Be Mine” or “I Love You.” Instead, the promotional cards promote abortion, condoms and promiscuity.

Pro-life blogger Jill Stanek has more pictures of these cards.

How can anyone keep a straight face when Planned Parenthood claims they are trying to promote responsible parenthood and relationships?

When I first saw the title Picture: Planned Parenthood’s idea of St. Valentine’s Day CatholicVoteAction.org , I barely knew what to think! However, now, after I read it, I can definitely say that I’ve talked about this stuff in the past. It’s really amazing to think about. Faithfully, Tyree Richardson

Condoms are misogynistic in that they are the overheated, pushy boyfriend’s best friend. For the poor woman they are a bargaining chip in a sad negotiation: “Well, I guess not getting a disease or being impregnated by someone I can’t be sure really cares about me is the best deal I can get.” At least streetwalkers usually get money from such trades.

If I received one of those cards, I would have given the dude responsible his walking papers! Ugh!

Ewww. Talk about gross. As a married person and a mother, obviously I have sex; but this kind of thinking just makes it so animalistic. There is a world of difference between “sexy” and “vulgar.” Sad thing is, you KNOW there are people out there printing these cards who end up “getting some.” Yuck-o.

Used is the right word. If people think that sex is a game, I’m pretty sure they will lose, one way or another.

“i dont think its very nice to say “dont read post before eating”. make your decisions based on your own morals and let people base their own choices on their morals. you’ll be fine.”

I don’t think it’s very logical to say that I have my set of morals and you have yours. Morals are by definition objective and universal. They either exist or they don’t; there’s no such thing as each person’s individual morals.

Caddy,
My choice, based on my own morals and my relationship with God, is to deride this ridiculous card and the idea that morals are relative. I’m glad you’re fine with that, but if you disagree you can post again and tell everybody else how you think they should behave.

And here I thought Billy Joel’s attempt at seduction (”I might as well be the one.”) was the single most unromantic sentence in history…

let people make their own choices. i wouldnt want this card either, but someone out there does. be and let be. i dont think its very nice to say “dont read post before eating”. make your decisions based on your own morals and let people base their own choices on their morals. you’ll be fine. its between you and god. not you and everybody else.
